Paralympic Games Paris 2024: Google’s Doodle lifts spirits with Paralympic powerlifting tribute

With a special doodle, Google has once again demonstrated its support for para-athletes as the 2024 Paralympic Games commence in Paris.

In honour of the Powerlifting event, Google refreshed their doodle on September 5th, presenting an imaginative and entertaining design.

The doodle shows a chicken at the "Aréna Porte de La Chapelle" hoisting what looks to be a loaf of bread, with another chick perched on top and nibbling on the bread.

"The wait is over, the weights are on," Google stated on its official Doodles page. Prepare for the Para Powerlifting competition taking place at Aréna Porte de La Chapelle today!

Athletes competing in a variety of categories will take part in the Powerlifting event, which got underway on September 4 and runs through September 8.

According to the official Paralympic website, Para Powerlifting is a sport designed for athletes with disabilities that allows competitors with one or more of eight recognised physical impairments to compete.

Each competitor in the event needs to have a hip or lower limb limitation that satisfies the minimal impairment requirements.

L.L. Guo of China won first place in the women's 45 kg category on the first day of competition, followed by Z. Newson of Great Britain and N.

Muratli of Turkey in second and third place. Men's 49 kg: O. Qarada of Jordan won gold, A. Kayapinar of Turkey took silver, and V.C. Lê of Vietnam received bronze.
